Dnd and Inktober!

It's that time again - Inktober! This is the first time I've tried to do one every day and so far I've been doing pretty well. So I wanted to upload some of my favourites! I have also finally finished my reference sheet for Dungeons and Dragons character, Wigwig the half orc!

Warcraft Wave!

I've always loved drawing orcs and trolls and now, on the new Warcraft expansion release, I'm loving drawing them again. There is something satisfying about their muscle structures; they are dense and angular to draw, it's great fun!

Crippled Angels

A new series of my crippled Angels are soon to be released and this is the first of the new set. I don't really know where they came from but I've loved drawing them for many years, just hadn't got around to colouring many. Sometimes when I feel something that doesn't have words, I just sketch, and a crippled angel comes out. He is thin from giving himself to the world - his wings are bent and can no longer fly. His eyes are blind to truths, and around his head, his halo binds him, ties him, confines him, to his master. The servitude of God. I guess read into it whatever you want :q

They are good boys Brent

More doggos. They bring light to my soul :D Also opened up a redbubble and an etsy for leftover shirts and prints. Just trying to put more out there :) These doggos are available as stickers to buy!

Delving into Dungeons and Dragons

So I finally got into DnD after years of saying I would. And of course, I picked an orc! (Well, a half orc, my Dungeon master didn't want full blooded orcs in the game), and oh lord I've been getting into making him a huge backstory and drawing him at various ages throughout his life. So there will be more of Wigwig when I've finished playing with the sketches... Once Confuzzled convention is out of the way, where I am dealing in the den for the first time, I am back with full focus on my short film! It's hard when there are so many projects I want to do, and finding time to put to all of them. I set aside 2018 for my animation project, bit then of course forgot I said I'd prep for selling at a con, which took about a month or so. It's hard to not beat yourself up for spending a day just drawing, just sketching...just watching an animated film. I want to get so many things done and allowing yourself any time to just...be...is hard. It's hard to not punish yourself for spending a few weeks just doing what you want. I'll be pushing my animation again as soon as CF is past and trying to do it in a way that doesn't stop me from just drawing and remembering what's important; being happy! It's okay to rest!

Prepping for a convention!

Getting super excited prepping for my first vending stall at a convention! One of the things I am selling, alongside existing art, is stickers and badges featuring some of my favourite dog breeds. So far, my gshep and poodle are the first to come together!

Project Nyx Development

Project Nyx has been developing on schedule so far! Still in it's infancy, it is nonetheless something I am greatly enjoying and particularly proud of. The short film, following a young boy who enters into the 'Ocean Champion' competition, has been so much fun creating characters and ideas around a water based world. It's also a big learning process for me, so I'm having a lot of fun with it. Animatic is almost finalised, new software tutorials are underway, and designs are being worked through in prep for animation beginning early March of this year. Little Nyx, the lead, has always had a design in my mind from early on but I still haven't decided on a concrete colour scheme. For now, here are the earliest and very first designs of him coming to fruition -
