New Line Work and life updates!

So much has happened since I finished up on Simon's Cat. I got the chance to work one of my old Animation Directors again on a pilot, which between us we animated to be pitched in September and I'm really hoping it gets what it deserves. It was a fabulous little short! After that, it seems that there has been a bit less going on in London (I worked on the pilot for an Irish studio) and ultimately, the winds have called me to move again. So we are! No sooner had I said I was available for work in Bristol, I got offered an exciting new opportunity to learn new software and work on a brand new show for Cbeebies. So we are off to Bristol! I've also been editing my book Tailbone following feedback on two manuscript copies. This was my first trial run with readers and it went really well; both readers were incredible helpful and offered insight into the story as well as grammatical things I could fix up here and there. I was especially pleased that both readers understood the story, liked the characters, and loved the ending. Thank goodness! That's the hardest part! So now, following their notes, I have edited the story again, and am two chapters away from having it ready to propose to an agent. I know I have proposed stories to agents in the past without luck. To be fair, I know I have improved much as a writer since then, and getting the story proof read by two people, while nerve wracking, was incredible beneficial. I feel Tailbone becomes stronger with each iteration and I am so thankful for it. While this is going on I've also enjoyed drawing with different line work - trying to use coloured line instead of black. I think it's working, and I've enjoyed revisiting old characters and also new conceptual ones. My go-to for relaxing art is trolls and orcs at the moment haha! Enjoy!
