I get so excited for the festive season, I've been drawing Christmas art! This design will be integrated into some Christmas cards for my friend's and family <3 All the best and feeling festive!

Reviving old sketches

After moving house I uncovered so many sketchbooks, and wonderful unfinished sketchbooks. I always come back to art eventually, even if its sometimes years later, and its wonderful to find hidden gems that can be improved with new experiences in line work, painting or proportion. I found a few character designs that had been speed sketched about a year ago and I'm so glad I came back to them. They were part of a conceived tribe of people that were half cat/tiger, which I had seen in a dream. The central leopard, Archer, was rescued by the tigers and struggles to fit in, being much smaller than them (and missing an arm!) but he soon finds his way. It was an exploration of the various characters in the tribe and the subtle differences that differentiate them.

Arg! Goblins are back!

New goblin sketches that were really fun to paint, good to help loosen up before painting other things :) Just one of my go-tos!

Comic Book Workings

After moving in with my partner, he coaxed me into drawing little mini adventures that we have together - silly things, like talking about dinner, decorating, and being ourselves in ways that made us have a little chuckle. Of course, this prompted me to draw my entire family like cartoon characters and so far they've loved it! Here is a work in progress of my newest, titled 'moving in' as well as a short story about wasps.

Jack Hopper

I had an awesome dream with a zoo theme that I would love to develop into a pitch for kids. One of the characters in my dream was a kangaroo themed character of sorts, so I got around to drawing him - I've named him Jack Hopper!

#Mermay

I offered 'furmaid' commissions in the month of 'mermay' to celebrate mermaiding and also all of the wonderful characters people create. It has been very popular so far! Lots of commissions and each one I'm learning new ways to work with water. What a wonderful way to spend May!

River

I love, love, love drawing centaurs and have a whole herd in mind. This is a revisit to an old sketch of a filly named River - admiring herself, quite fittingly, in a river. They are so peaceful to draw and paint. I absolutely love them! Happy Spring everyone :)

Spooky!

Back to some more human art, and whilst waiting for my new contract to start I have been working on my own art, finishing off so many unfinished paintings. I've done many renditions of my dollmaker but never finished any - in some he is very scary, in others, more mournful and misunderstood. There is more to this talented creator, a dark secret behind his life like creations...spooky!

Fur-maids

Following a newly invigorated mermaid passion, following mermaid lessons, I've been offering 'furmaid' commissions and had wonderful responses online. This is a wip of my newest one, a character for a client named 'Ira'. Really pleased with how its looking so far!

Working with a 'silver screen' theme for an upcoming art show. Poodles are so sassy, so why not? I'm hoping to have this printed onto some kind of weathered paper to look like a vintage signed postcard!

Zoo Studies

Working on lots of animal designs for my portfolio update. Moving to a new studio soon! Had a lot of fun bringing out personality in a variety of Zoo and African wildlife! Also, Happy New Year!
