New Line Work and life updates!
So much has happened since I finished up on Simon's Cat. I got the chance to work one of my old Animation Directors again on a pilot, which between us we animated to be pitched in September and I'm really hoping it gets what it deserves. It was a fabulous little short!
After that, it seems that there has been a bit less going on in London (I worked on the pilot for an Irish studio) and ultimately, the winds have called me to move again. So we are! No sooner had I said I was available for work in Bristol, I got offered an exciting new opportunity to learn new software and work on a brand new show for Cbeebies. So we are off to Bristol!
I've also been editing my book Tailbone following feedback on two manuscript copies. This was my first trial run with readers and it went really well; both readers were incredible helpful and offered insight into the story as well as grammatical things I could fix up here and there. I was especially pleased that both readers understood the story, liked the characters, and loved the ending. Thank goodness! That's the hardest part! So now, following their notes, I have edited the story again, and am two chapters away from having it ready to propose to an agent.
I know I have proposed stories to agents in the past without luck. To be fair, I know I have improved much as a writer since then, and getting the story proof read by two people, while nerve wracking, was incredible beneficial. I feel Tailbone becomes stronger with each iteration and I am so thankful for it.
While this is going on I've also enjoyed drawing with different line work - trying to use coloured line instead of black. I think it's working, and I've enjoyed revisiting old characters and also new conceptual ones. My go-to for relaxing art is trolls and orcs at the moment haha! Enjoy!

Simon's Cat!
I was fortunate to spend time working on Simon's Cat and had an amazing time! The shorts I worked on should be released later this year. The whole team was fantastic and Simon was kind enough to draw me some art to raise money for charity at the next convention I attend - to draw me a poodle, which I converted into an icon on twitter - and a goodbye picture of me as a skaven, as a gesture to the LARP I do from time to time. Thank you Simon! I hope to work with you all again soon!
Character Development - happy Spring!
A fantastic update these last couple of months. My novel Tailbone, which I am seeking publication on, has had fantastic feedback on it from the first proof readers; genuine good vibes! They enjoyed the story, understood everything, were satisfied with the ending to the point they wanted a sequel, and emphasised with the characters where needed :) Not bad considering I re-wrote a lot of the main character! Now onto the next set of reviewing, and then editing, before trying for an agent! Wish me luck :) I'm feeling really proud, and going to make this the best story it can be.
On top of this I've been enjoying Warcraft fan art and drawing couples - and now revisiting my centaur characters too. Fitting for the spring!

Simons Cat!
I've been working on Simon's Cat with an amazing team and it's something of a dream come true as I loved watching Simon's Cat as a student. Learning a lot in general and being part of something so full of smiles is absolutely incredible to me. Simon himself is a great inspiration to me and drew me a poodle! I was so happy I'm going to frame it :D
He also said I could colour the picture to become an icon for my character, Edward Fuzzypaws. And here it is!!

Warcraft!
I've been a fan of Warcraft for many years and got finally into doing some fanart. I've never been one for fanart really, but there is a huge level of customisation for this, so I'm just letting myself enjoy it. This is Trik the troll confronting the loa - the spirits that the trolls worship and look to for guidance - where he has asked to prove his worth and, should he pass, he will be taught greater power. Still playing with lighting and colour, always more to learn! But pretty happy with this one :)

Tailbone Milestone!
I am so deeply pleased! My novel has finally undergone it's third round of personal edits, and is now printed off ready for the next stage: external edit and review. Needless to say I am very nervous, but also excited. These are necessary stages for me to get my novel to the best it can be prior to publication!
Just to hold them in my hands is an honour :)

Happy Valentines Day!
Mermaids, oh yes
Been back into drawing mermaids lately, of course. I keep a sketchbook and some pencils in my work bag every day, just in case I want to sketch something on the train or have a surge of inspiration. Working on Simon's Cat is an amazing experience for me - I hadn't mentioned on here but since the wrap up on series 1 of Claude for Sixteen South I have gone on to work on the youtube sensation Simon's Cat and I love every minute of it. The animations are a huge inspiration me and I've enjoyed them since I was young so, it's become a great honor for me to be part of it!
Enjoy some mermaid sketches <3
